The Crafty Scientist is Dayna Mankowski, part-time Pharmacist and full time Crafter! The experimental design lab is host to many creative experiments, and most recently has been taken over by loads of fiber! Humanely sourced wool, mohair, and silks are hand dyed by other artisans, and these are carded into one of a kind ‘Laboratory Batts’. In addition to these amazing fibers, the sky is the limit for other fibers added to the batts - soysilk, corn fiber, and even tinsel and sewing scraps are used. “ Art Yarns by a Scientist’ utilize lab batts and are spun usually thick and thin and contain other fun add ins---sea shells, beads, and even felted items. Knitting and spinning should be fun! www.craftyscientist.com
